Canterbury A&P Show Update

CANTERBURY A&P SHOW UPDATE

The Canterbury A & P Show was held at the Canterbury Agricultural Park in Christchurch from the 9th to the 11th of November. Donald Sutton, Bellamy Acker, Shane McDonald and myself, from the rural team, attended. The show had in excess of 100,000 visitors over the three days and more than 7000 livestock entries, making it the largest A & P Show in New Zealand.

On site this year we had a scissor-lift to create a focal point and an easy to see marker for our site.

The weather was wintery on Wednesday, either raining or threatening rain for most of the day. Thursday was the opposite, reaching a high of 27c with a strong nor’wester blowing. And Friday was overcast and cool. Such changeable weather could have affected attendance through the gate but Friday being a public holiday certainly helped boost the crowds.

The purpose of being at the show was not only to generate enquiry, but to network with our professional peers in the agriculture industry. On both fronts, we’re happy to report on a successful three days in Canterbury.
